Solar Is Complete
We have now completed the solar install on Aurelia. Our setup is: two 200 watt SIGS panels on the roof of the pilothouse and on the top of the bimini (canvas roof) on the flybridge, two 200 watt panels hanging off the back railing, and two 100 watt bifacial panels extending the flybridge deck, making a bit of covering over the swimstep. We are hopeful that the 1400 watts total will sustain us at anchor for multiple days at a time.
The most difficult part of this install was running the cabling: from the outside, cutting holes through the roof, behind walls, across ceilings, and through small holes trying to get it to run where we needed it to go. Good thing we have a fish tape to help!
