What We Are Up to Now
Since Aurelia is now sold, our dinghy (Lia) is now up for sale. Fingers crossed for a quick sale with this boat as well!
We have placed an order for our truck camper. It’s a Rugged Mountain X12. As of now, the target date to receive it is sometime in August.
We have also placed an order for our cargo trailer. It’s an ATC Sto 400. As of now, the target date to receive it is mid June.
We recently purchased a 2026 Ford F550. A CM RD steel flatbed will be installed soon. We started out looking for a used one, but ended up finding a new one at Titus Will in Tacoma that was priced well. So, the process of purchasing the truck went very quick and smooth.
We have spent quite a bit of time discussing and planning what we need for this new way of living. There will be a lot of work to outfit the trailer inside the way we want it (painting, building shelves, making places to store motorcycles, etc, etc. etc). We’ve started buying things we need and we are visiting our local UPS store often to pick up packages! (we have our mail service through UPS)
We’re also fitting in some time to have some fun! On April 19th we did a hike in Deception Pass State Park. This park is quite large, with many hikes to choose from. This time we walked along the beach one way and took the trail on the way back.
On April 20th we took Lia out (likely for the last time) for a cruise for the day. We did a loop around Fidalgo Island (where Anacortes is located).
The people we are renting from have a very cute, friendly dog. His name is Norman. :-)
On April 26th we went for a bike ride around Anacortes. To our surprise, we saw that Aurelia was not in her slip at the marina. We ended up seeing her coming back while we were out riding. So happy to see the new owners are getting out and enjoying her!
On May 2nd we went for a hike very close to our rental, at Sharpe Park. Found some great views of Rosario Strait.
On May 3rd, we went for a drive and found Rockport State Park that used to be a campground. It is still open for day use so we went for a hike. What a pretty area!
We’re very excited - tomorrow we get to head south to see Aven!
