Hanging Out in Gig Harbor for a Bit Longer

We had some nice weather and decided to hang out in Gig Harbor until November 11th, when we headed to Poulsbo. On November 7th, we noticed diesel in the water around our boat. With a quick look around we determined it wasn’t coming from us - whew! We hopped in Lia and followed the path to see if we could determine where it was coming from. Greg also put the drone up in the air and captured a few pictures. It appeared to be coming from an area of about 8-10 boats. We called the Department of Ecology to report the spill. An employee named Ben gathered as much info from us as possible, including pictures we took. A bit later in the day we saw a truck and employee from their office in the area. We did not hear an outcome of the spill, but the next day when we walked by we did not detect any more diesel in the water.

We saw some nice and fun sights while walking around town.

It’s always a joy to capture pictures of your own boat anchored out somewhere.

Greg made crab cakes one night. They were yummy!

One afternoon we took Lia to Boathouse 19 to meet Greg’s parents. It was great to see them again. Here’s a shot of us coming up to the Narrows Bridge, and one of the Clipper coming back from doing some whale watching.

On November 11th, we left Gig Harbor, likely for the last time in Aurelia. I’ll admit, I got a bit teary. I’ll miss this town.
