Visiting a Couple New Places While We Head South
On October 29th, we woke up to a nice sunrise and calm waters. We made the long run (8 1/2 hours) from Penn Cove on Whidbey Island to Manzanita Bay on Bainbridge Island.
One of the things I like to do while we’re underway is dishes. Due to the strong winds and high waves the day before, I hadn’t done the dishes that day so they piled up a bit! (and there was more than normal because we had caught crab and had 5 bowls dirty from that)
One part of the day was a very long straight stretch. Good thing for autopilot! (especially when you’re traveling at 6 knots)
We passed a C-Dory Venture on our way. A C-Dory is the type of boat we had in the past. We knew many owners in the area, but didn’t know this boat.
Nice view coming up to the Agate Pass Bridge.
We had a very nice, calm, quiet night in Manzanita Bay.
On October 30th we moved to Chico Bay in Dyes Inlet. On our way through the Port Washington Narrows, we saw some beautiful fall trees, passed under a bridge, and got a great view of the Olympic Mountains.
Once we were settled, we took Lia to the dock in Silverdale and walked the 1.3 miles to Trader Joe’s. It’s been a while, so it was easy to spend $200 there to stock up! We actually heard from an old boat neighbor (when we were on the dock in Bremerton) who recognized us as she was driving past us while we were walking! Part of our trek there and back took us on this nice trail right through all the shops in the area.
That evening we added some fun lights to the boat! They are ones that you can change the color via an app. This will be fun!
